Grief Group Offered

Grief Group Offered

An unknown author wrote, "There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without but have to let go." Beginning March 12th, the Health Initiative will provide space for a Grief Support Group on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays. We will meet six times (continuing through May 28th) from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Any LGBT person who has lost a partner, child or parent is invited into this circle. Rev. Lesley Brogan, partner of the Health Initiative's ED, Linda Ellis, and minister at Central Congregational UCC, will serve as facilitator and lead participants in supportive conversation leaning into the wisdom and comfort gained from sharing stories. To reserve a space and/or for more information, please call 404-688-2524 or email info@thehealthinitiative.org.

Share the Love on Valentine's Day

Share the Love on Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is traditionally thought of as a holiday for couples. But there are also some fulfilling ways to for singles to celebrate:
1. Send Valentine's Day cards to all your single friends.
2. Buy yourself a little special something - an extra nice small candy or a trinket that only you know you want (maybe that little 10-in-1 tool you saw at the hardware store!)
3. Have a singles dinner party.
4. Give kid valentines to every one you meet.

Whether you are single or part of a couple, be gentle with yourself and others. That is one of the best ways to share the love.
