Denise D. VanLanduyt, Esq.
Denise is an attorney in private practice, having established her own law firm in downtown Decatur in November, 2002. She focuses primarily on family law issues; guiding and advising families through separation and divorce, life planning issues, including domestic partnership agreements, parenting plans, simple wills and powers of attorney. She also represents clients in other civil matters including personal injury, contract disputes and violation of privacy matters. In addition to her private practice, she serves as Guardian ad Litem in both Fulton and DeKalb Counties. |

Denise received her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Central Florida in 1996. She went on to attend Syracuse University College of Law where she was active in the Public Interest Law Firm, representing persons with disabilities and those affected with HIV. She conducted her first jury trial as a third year student attorney in a case involving privacy issues and HIV disclosure. As a student, she was admitted to practice in both the state and federal courts of New York. She also served as President of the Lambda Law Society (now the Outlaw) and further promoted the Safe Space program and took the lead in organizing a campus-wide symposium on violence addressing rarely discussed topics including same-sex domestic violence and violence against persons with disabilities.
She received her Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University College of Law in May, 2000 and was admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia in October, 2000.
Denise is a member State Bar of Georgia - Family Law Section, DeKalb County Bar Association, Stonewall Bar Association, American Bar Association - Family Law Section, Atlanta History Center (Member and Volunteer) and Decatur First United Methodist Church.
Denise is married to Jessica and they reside in Decatur. She is an avid reader of Revolutionary American History and a budding musician.
